Tie Bolero Paper Sewing Pattern, Sew Different

The Tie Bolero is a cosy quilted layering piece with a softly sculptural shape and a practical side-tie fastening. Designed with a dipped hem at the back, it works beautifully thrown over dresses, knitwear or everyday basics. The construction features three layers — outer fabric, bump interlining and lining — with decorative bias-bound edges and neatly finished internal seams. There is also the option to add a fully lined removable hood, attached with poppers for extra warmth and versatility.

Suggested fabrics include denim, boiled wool, heavy cotton, bouclé, felt, scuba, heavy linen, corduroy, velvet, twill or tweed. This is a wonderfully creative project, with plenty of opportunity to experiment with quilting, topstitching and texture.

• 5m of 25mm (1 inch) bias binding
